Materials we use

In the class, I use materials specifically designed for teaching Chinese with engaging and fun activities. These activities not only teach the language, but also train the memorisation skills, logical thinking, sound imitations and cultural awareness.

Vocabulary

Vocabulary is taught with comparative methods by providing students with pictures and linking the words to their English equivalents to aid memorisation. Additionally, we reinforce the vocabulary through grammar practice.

Grammar

Grammar is taught progressively, like building with LEGO bricks—starting with simple structures and gradually combining them to solve language puzzles. Students use grammar to construct phrases and sentences, eventually building up to more advanced paragraphs.

Special features of Chinese

Cultural awareness is an important part of my teaching. I help children explore the differences and connections between Chinese and other languages, showing them that every language is unique and fascinating. By highlighting the special features of Chinese, I aim to deepen their understanding of both the language and its cultural context.
